Elizabeth Bennet
At the beginning of the novel, Elizabeth creates a quick judgment about Mr. Darcy. She belives that he is rude and arogant becuase he would not dance with her at the ball.
A gentle welcome
This is a simple plain HTML and CSS website I made. This was made just for my English class final.
Many of the characters in Pride and Prejudice make quick judgments about each others just based on appearances and social status. We can see that people tend to form opinions about others just like what we can see in the novel.
At the beginning of the novel, Elizabeth creates a quick judgment about Mr. Darcy. She belives that he is rude and arogant becuase he would not dance with her at the ball.
Mr Darcy at the time saw Elizabeth as someone who was beneath him and not very attractive. His pride makes him to be very judgmental.
Wickham first appears charming to Elizabeth, but he later changes as he tells her lies and stories about Darcy.
We can see that
We can see that the characters in the novel are not just straight forward, but they have some sort of emotional complexity. For example, Elizabeth is not just a character we quickly learn about, but she is one that has a lot of depth and growth throughout the novel.
The theme of the novel is about first impressions and is carried throughout the story. We can see that people often make quick judgments but often times, these judgments are often proven wrong as the story unfolds.
The conflict of the novel is about how the characters deal with their first impressions and how they grow to understand each other. Jane Austen hides internal conflicts within the characters, showing how emotions and misunderstanding can lead to conflict. I think that Austen also is trying to warn us about how we need to think twice before we are quick to judge like the characters Austen wrote about.
